Forum Participation Guidelines and Privacy

We consider the online discussion forum to be a space for an open conversation about the Fare Review project. We encourage you to provide your feedback through comments and discussion in the forum, (and e-mail), and welcome the diverse range of opinions you have to share.

Here are a few simple “ground rules” to keep the conversation running smoothly and ensure a positive experience for all participants.

Respect everyone

A good conversation requires participants to be considerate with one another. Please be polite and treat everyone with respect, including TransLink, its family of companies, and its staff. Abusive language and/or attacks that go beyond constructive criticism will not be tolerated, and we’ll remove any content that advocates or encourages expressions of violence, bigotry, racism, or hatred.

Keep it clean

Keep your posts free of profanity and obscenity. People of all different backgrounds come to this discussion forum, and we want everyone to feel comfortable reading or participating in the discussion.

Be constructive

When providing feedback, please focus on providing constructive comments focusing on how to improve the transit fare system and your commuting experience. 

Don’t misinform or mislead

We will remove any comments that make obviously false or unsubstantiated allegations.

No marketing

The online forum isn’t the place to market your business or sell your services.

Don’t spam

We will consider all legitimate comments, but we don’t want anyone to overwhelm the conversation by excessively repeating messages or dragging topics off-course. We will remove any instances of spamming. Specifically, this refers to comments that do not fit the topic of the post, excessive commenting (commenting multiple times in succession within the same post), or cross-posting (providing the same comment in multiple topic areas).

Don’t break the law

Illegal content or behaviour is not allowed on the forum. Don’t link or post any copyrighted or pornographic material, and don’t engage in behaviours like harassment, impersonation, intimidation, or abuse. TransLink is not responsible for any use of material posted by users.


If you’re an employee of TransLink or a TransLink subsidiary (SkyTrain, Coast Mountain Bus Company, West Coast Express, Canada Line, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Transportation Property & Casualty Company Inc), you are required to identify yourself as such whenever participating in the discussion.

The last resort

At its sole discretion, TransLink will warn, suspend, and if necessary, permanently ban commenters that continue to ignore, flaunt or disregard these guidelines.


Questions will be responded to during normal business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday). All questions received outside of these hours will be responded to within 1-2 business days.
